Murkee is a contemporary womenswear label that explores the everyday:

Pieces you can move in and return to—day after day. It was created out

of a deep affection for the mundane—the rituals that anchor us and

the  personal little moments that often go unnoticed.

The name Murkee comes from Indian classical music. In music,

a murki is a quick, effortless ornament—an instinctive movement

that adds character without calling attention to itself. It’s subtle, fluid,

and natural. For the brand, it translates as ease over excess, attention

to detail, and a kind of comfort that feels familiar from the first wear.

Our Vision

Our collections are built around silhouettes that are relaxed, intuitive,
and made for real living. Fabrics that feel comforting, and thoughtful
surface details that bring a sense of individuality without being loud.
At Murkee, we design everyday clothing that feels personal—familiar
in feeling, but fresh in expression.

Murkee stands for design that feels honest and warm. Crafted with care,
shaped by Indian craft sensibilities, and grounded in a language of ease,
every piece is meant to blend into your day while still feeling considered.
It is for those who notice the small things. For those who find meaning
in the mundane, who enjoy slow moments, who like clothing that feels
like an extension of themselves. It’s an invitation to dress with simplicity
and intention.

Our Story

founder iamge

Murkee was started by Nikita Agrawal, a little while after she completed
her graduation from NIFT—born from one simple question: Why is everyday
clothing either inconvenient or boring?

For years, the everyday wardrobe sat at two extremes. On one side were
plain, unexciting basics that felt repetitive. On the other were pieces that
became unwearable the moment they got ornamental—too fussy, too
delicate, too “special occasion” for daily life. There was no middle ground,
no clothing that felt both easy and interesting.

Murkee strives to find that balance. The brand simplifies everyday dressing
through thoughtful design—finding comfort in simple forms and innovative
details, making clothes that feel lived in from the start.
